IBB’s son, Mohammed, joins Niger PDP guber campaign team

THE eldest son of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Mohammed Babangida, has joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial campaign team in Niger State. Mohammed and his younger sister, Halima Babangida are now part of the PDP campaign train currently touring the state to get support for the party in the forthcoming general elections. They were both at the gubernatorial campaign of Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko at Kampala, in Bosso Local Council of the state on Monday. This development ended speculations that the former head of state is no more a strong supporter of the PDP. General Babangida was reported to have said that he and other generals in the Nigerian Army would support APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in the general election, during Buhari's campaign visit to the state. Mohammed had earlier been named as the Director of Finance in the state PDP gubernatorial campaign committee. Addressing party supporters in Bosso local council on Monday, Nasko said youth development and job creation will be the main focus of his administration if voted into office as governor of the state. He also promised to provide more social amenities to the people of Bosso. Also speaking, Governor Mua’zu Babangida Aliyu, who is the PDP senatorial candidate for Niger East decried the trend where some politicians use religious and ‎tribal sentiments to deceive the electorate, saying his administration treated all religious and ethnic groups in the state equally since it came to office. According to Aliyu, "Niger State has remained peaceful because of equal opportunities given to everyone in the state." - See more at: http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/news/national-news/196318-ibb-s-son-mohammed-joins-niger-pdp-guber-campaign-team#sthash.7PFcZjbr.dpuf
